Re: European Services Directive

Thank you very much for your letter. I can assure you that you are not alone in your concern of the Services directive. We to are greatly worried about the proposals and their impacts, particularly with regard to state competencies and competition. This is, however, typical of the European Union where more often than not, civil servants and politicians with little or no experience of commerce or the private sector make decisions based on political ideologies rather than facts.

We in the UK Independence Party are opposed to UK membership of the EU for this very reason and we believe that national governments, directly elected by citizens of the state should run their own affairs. This is why we are in opposition to the directive. I will keep a record of your letter and when the document is voted up, we can do so accordingly.
